Meet the team
Six years in TIC operations before founding Checkfirst in Lisbon in 2021 — running ISO and IATF audit programs at a UK certification body, then consulting for inspection firms in France and Portugal. Started Checkfirst after the same scheduling problem surfaced at every firm he worked with.
Machine learning engineer with a background in constraint optimization. Built production scheduling algorithms at a Porto-based logistics platform before co-founding Checkfirst. Designed the core assignment engine and certification matching logic from the ground up for TIC-specific constraints.
Ran auditor operations at a UK certification body managing 80+ auditors across ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 programs before moving to product. Joined Checkfirst as first product hire — every feature prioritisation decision is grounded in direct experience on the ops side of the scheduling problem.
Background in TIC quality management consulting and inspection software rollouts. Leads implementation for every Checkfirst customer — configuring certification schemas, constraint rules, and work order integrations. Has brought 12+ TIC operations teams through go-live, typically within ten business days.
